Q&A from the Live session | Technical Enablement of Amazon Q in QuickSight

Answers generated from Webex transcript and chat interactions

Q: Does Amazon Q only work for time series when you want to forecast something?
A: Q for Quicksight works for any kind of data source supported today. It is not just limited to Time series. Hope that’s helpful. Forecast is supported for any kind of datasource. But yes, it does provide you answers in terms of numbers with the metadata of respective fields.

Q: I have a dataset where my column names are listed in Rows, How can i make Quicksight to take my column names from the rows without using databrew is there any other way in QuickSight directly?
A: Unfortuantely at this moment, QS does not have fature to be able to change, requiring databrew or other tool to use.

Q: Where do you view the feedback for Amazon Q as an author?
A: For Q&A, topic owner is able to see the feedback on topic config page. An author can see user activity with feedback. Check Reviewing topic questions and feedback on the link Step 3 Reviewing Amazon QuickSight Q topic performance and feedback - Amazon QuickSight

Q: Do Q&A prompts always generate multi visual output?
A: The answer is no it doesn’t always generate a multi visual output. You must create a named entity in your Q topic in order to receive a multi visual output, this is because Q uses the context provided from your named entity to create visuals based on those fields in your dataset

Q: Can you create an analysis sourced from the Q&A multi-viz output?
A: The multi viz output comes from the dashboard view (end user rather than the author building the analysis), what you can do is pin the visual produced by the Q&A output and share that with your team / have your QS author add that to your analysis (because this multi viz capability is in the dashboard rather than analysis view)
