We have a QuickSight environment (us-east-1) where our clients can create analyses against their own tenant data. We segregate clients based on namespaces and groups.
In addition to the client users, our own staff needs to be able to access the separate clients’ data. We have heard a suggestion that it is possible to create QS author accounts that can access data in multiple namespaces – but I cannot figure out how to create such author accounts. The SDK calls that we use to create author accounts require that we provide a namespace when the user is created – which restricts the author to that single namespace.
Does anyone have any insight into how this might be accomplished?
Hi @kmaloney, @duncan is right. Marking above response as solution.
Users and groups exists within namespaces. Hence, an user can’t be part of multiple namespaces. Assets on other hand exist at account and region level. Asset visibility can be controlled via shared folders, through asset management screen in admin panel or via permission API calls.
