Hi communitty!
May i ask please regarding quicksight date filters - is there a way to leave the datepicker empty so that it shows all values in a table? e.g In a table , when the datepicker/date filter is empty (Meaning no date picked) i get all values in the table, And when its not empty (I select a certain date) i get to see values only for that date?
Hi @masinga,
Since the date pickers require you to setup a default date, there’s no ideal out of box way to achieve this.
One workaround you could consider:
- Add a filter to the table for the date field in discussion. As soon as you add it, prior to editing, click on the 3 dots next to the filter and choose ‘add control’ (inside or top of sheet does not matter). While it will be setup with a begin and end date, they will both be blank allowing all results to return.
- Then you can select your date and it will filter down to that date. To get back to the empty option, just select the 3 dots next to your date filter and hit ‘reset’.
Unfortunately, if you try to edit the filter at all, it will require you to select default dates before you save it, so you won’t be able to switch it to an ‘equals’ instead of ‘between’.
The option to set a date filter as blank so that it returns all dates would be a nice addition so I’ll mark this as a feature request as well.
Thank you!
Hi @masinga,
It’s been awhile since we last heard from you so following up to see if you had any additional questions?
If we do not hear back within the next 3 business days, I’ll close out this topic.
Thank you!
