Quick Sight Bug: "Add to Folder" option for Dashboards redirects to an error page

I’m experiencing an issue with the “Add to folder” functionality for dashboards in QuickSight.

Issue: When I click the three-dot menu (⋮) on a dashboard and select “Add to folder,” instead of showing a folder picker dialog, the page redirects to an error page.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Go to the QuickSight Dashboards list

  2. Click the context menu on any dashboard

  3. Select “Add to folder”

  4. Result: Redirects to an error page

Additional pain points:

  • The Dashboards page has no search/filter to locate dashboards for management purposes — the search box only opens dashboards directly. Previously, this wasn’t the case.

  • The “+” button inside folders only allows creating new datasets or analyses, not adding existing dashboards.

  • With hundreds of dashboards I have access to as a BIE, there’s no efficient way to organize them into folders.

Expected Behavior: A folder picker dialog should appear allowing me to select a destination folder.

Has anyone else encountered this? This was previously available, only recently has this flow changed.

For the Add to folder issue, that sounds like a bug. I’d recommend opening an AWS Support ticket for this one (Support Ticket). I tried replicating it on my end, but wasn’t able to reproduce your error.

For your other points (no search/filter, the “+” button in folders not allowing you to add existing dashboards), I’ll go ahead and mark this as a feature request.
