Hi there! Is anybody having trouble with MCPs in their ability to add, update, delete data with the platform that they’re connected to? The example I have is with the Notion MCP. When you connect to it, you can add stuff just fine, but you can’t update anything that exists, and you can’t delete anything that exists. I have this error where the submit button appears when it’s telling you it’s going to go make a change, but you literally can’t click it. If you click the button, nothing happens, but when you go to add brand new information, there’s no problem. You can click the submit button; it goes through just fine, but when it comes to update or delete anything that is existing, it doesn’t work.
Hi @Keegan_LaMar,
Welcome to the Quick Community! That is definitely interesting behavior, as you should be able to edit the integration and not have to make a new one every time. Just to make sure (and please let me know if there is anything I might be misunderstanding with your MCP), but do you know if there might be any specific identifiers from the Notion platform that might need to be pulled for already existing information? I wonder if that could be the reason for the issue.
If that is not the case, I would definitely recommend creating a support ticket with AWS Support, as they might be able to assist you further in your use case (and/or potentially see if this is indeed a bug/error).
Let me know if this helps!
Thanks for the response @WLS-Luis . ya to clarify, the MCP is set up and it says it can do all sorts of behaviors and it can find and tells me that it can update and delete stuff but then the “review action” screen pops up to show me what quick suite will go and update and/or delete, the submit button doesn’t actually do anything. I click on it and nothing happens at all and then I have to click cancel to get out of the screen and it throws the chat agent into a tizzy asking me why I clicked cancel or if it wants me to do something else. But when I want to add something net new into notion, I can actually click the submit button on the review action panel and it goes through just fine. it’s only when I ask the agent to update an existing item or delete an existing item in notion that the “submit” button literally does nothing and I can’t submit the action.
Hi @Keegan_LaMar,
Thanks for more providing more specifics! Yes I would definitely use the link for AWS Support in my previous message as they may be able to better see why this issue could be occurring. Also please free if AWS Support provides you a conclusive answer to your question, just in case others are having similar MCP issues.
Thank you!
Will do! thank you for the link!
