QuickSight - Asset Map

Hi Community,

I am still exploring QuickSight on the surface. So, not sure if the following is available somewhere and I am not aware.

As I work on datasets, analysis and dashboards, I feel the need to have an navigating feature that helps me navigate through the maze of objects that are available in QuickSight. In each object there are bits and pieces of this but takes time to explore things.

Starting at any level I should be able to go downstream (Dashboard down to dataset) or upsteam (dataset to dashboard) in a visual way. feature-request.

Do you agree?

Regards,
Giri

So you want to show the lineage, right?

Hi @ErikG,

Yes. That is right.

@Giridhar.Prabhu ,

Out of the box solution does not exist, the APIs though should still help you extract the required information. Possibly a treegraph or network graph could help in visualizing the data ( https://democentral.learnquicksight.online/#Dashboard-FeatureDemo-Highcharts-Visual , samples look for network graph) .

here is a blog about column level lineage potentially solving a few use-cases : Enhance data governance through column-level lineage in Amazon QuickSight | AWS Business Intelligence Blog

another tracking dashboard lineage : Centrally tracking dashboard lineage, permissions, and more with Amazon QuickSight administrative dashboards | AWS Big Data Blog

Kind regards,
Koushik

Hi @Giridhar.Prabhu,
It’s been awhile since we last heard from you on this thread. Did any of the links provided above assist you further?

If we do not hear back within the next 3 business days, I’ll close out this topic.

Thank you!

Hi @Brett

I think what I am asking for should be an out of the box feature in QuickSight.

So, I request you to tag this as a feature request. It will benefit all the users.

Regards,
Giri
