QuickSight Community Guidelines

Welcome to our QuickSight Community! This is the place for QuickSight users to come together and talk about QuickSight. It is your one-stop shop for answers to your questions, tips & tricks, show & tell, and all-things QuickSight. Please take a moment to review our guidelines below to ensure we foster a healthy and helpful community.

Earn Some Flair

What’s better than being a part of a great community? Earning badges for participating! You can earn badges by posting, liking other member’s posts, people liking your posts, and setting up your profile. We of course reserve the right to alter or award custom badges in special circumstances or for our own amusement.

Contribute to the Discussion

To keep the discussion going and on topic, be mindful of what you say and how you say it. Remember that while something may be funny or humorous to you, it might not be to someone else. Always be respectful of the discussion and the members a part of it, even if you disagree with something.

Be sure to search for the discussion you would like to join before starting a new one. Doing this will better connect you to others with similar interests and maintain a more organized forum.

Be Respectful

It’s okay to not agree with everyone and everything all of the time. The important thing is how you respond or react. If you feel a response is necessary, please remember there is another human on the other end. Be mindful of your reply and how someone would feel if they read it.

Always avoid :

  • Name calling
  • Personal attacks
  • Sharing personal or sensitive information (yours or another individual’s)
  • Insensitive or discriminatory comments regarding gender, ethnicity, orientation, race, culture, or background
  • Off-topic content about products, services, or brands outside of QuickSight (for example, irrelevant details or content that does not add to the discussion)

You Complete Us

Your contributions support the growth of the community. Help us continue to make the community its best version of itself by fostering healthy and on-topic discussions. Use AnswerHub’s tools to improve your experience by bookmarking, liking, flagging, replying, and editing posts, which in return will help surface answers and topics for others.

Share Your Content Only

No one wants their information shared without their permission. Please only post what is truly yours and avoid sharing any confidential, private or personal information—real names apply. This also includes images, even if they are cute pictures of your cat; however, we may periodically ask our community to share adorable pics of their loved ones, fur babies, and critters.

If You See Something, Say Something

Moderators have super powers, as they are responsible for this forum; however, our moderation team does not preview new posts or take responsibility for any content published by the community. We trust your best judgement when engaging with our forum. Keep in mind that moderators reserve the right to remove any content and any member account for any reason at any given time.

Leverage your super powers. If you see a post is in violation of our Community Guidelines, flag it immediately . While we want to be everywhere at all times, we are human, too. Let’s join our powers to ensure our forum remains safe for all members.

Always Be Civil

Civility matters to us. We cannot nurture a healthy community with rudeness or inconsiderateness. Please keep these in mind when engaging with our forum and its members :

  • Do not post anything that a reasonable person would consider abusive or offensive
  • Do not post ‘not safe for work’ content and imagery (NSFW)
  • Do not harass or impersonate anyone or expose their private information
  • Do not post spam or trash the forum
  • Do not post personal data

Keep It Organized

Organization is key. Let’s keep the forum properly arranged to allow for ease when seeking the answer to a question. Be sure to avoid these at all times :

  • Commenting a “+1” on posts and threads
  • “Shouting” in all caps
  • Cross-posting the same thing in multiple topics
  • Diverting a topic by changing it mid-conversation
  • Posting no-content replies
  • Signing your posts
  • Starting a topic in the wrong category

Using the Solution Button

We love to know when a topic or post is the answer you’re seeking when trying to achieve something within QuickSight. We encourage you to use our Solution button to indicate when a comment answers your question. To achieve this, click (desktop) or tap (mobile) on the ‘Solution’ button (see image below).

NOTE: To access this button, simply click (desktop) or tap (mobile) on the three grey dots on the bottom right-hand corner of the post.

Powered by the Community

Our QuickSight forum is owned and operated by us, but its members, including you, complete it. Do not make us dust off the ban hammer by testing the boundaries of what you can and cannot do on our forum. We’d prefer you stay, grow, and thrive in our community. If at any time you would like to share feedback on how to make your experience or the forums better, please let us know.
