QUICKSIGHT Query

How can I use a data field as a title for a visual without creating a control of it? Using simply parameter in the title doesn’t work without creating control of it. Is there any other way without creating a control?

Hi @pritam - Welcome to AWS QuickSight community and thanks for posting the question. Can you please give more details what exactly you want to put in the title, if you can give sample input and expected output, that will help community to guide you.

Please see the document how you can use parameter in different titles in QS.

Regards - Sanjeeb

Hello Sanjeeb, thanks for replying.

I have two data fields named startDate and endDate. Each endDate has a corresponding startDate. I have only endDate as a control.

Output that I am looking for:

I want to use startDate as a title for a table that changes based on the endDate I select from the Control, without using startDate as a Control.

Hello @pritam, my apologies for the delayed response. There is not functionality within QuickSight to manage something like this due to the parameter requirements. The only alternative would be to embed your QuickSight Dashboard while handling the calculation on the front-end and passing a parameter value into the embeddedURL.

Here at AWS, our roadmap is primarily driven by our customers. Since this is not available functionality, I will mark this question as a feature request. If you have any further questions about this topic, please let me know or create a new post in the community to be at the top of the priority list for a response from one of our QuickSight experts. Otherwise, I can archive this question for the Quicksight team. Thank you for your feedback!
