[Quicksight] Regarding the checking datasets being used in analysis & dashboards using API

I’m looking at all my data sets and would like to see what analyses and dashboards are being used in. I know that I can click on the data set and to to manage>usage but am hoping for a more efficient way to do this using APIs.

Best regards,
Boram

Hi @iamboram - At present there is no simple solution exists for this requirement from api. However utilizing cloudwatch logs details, you can create some custom solution for the same. Please see the below blog for the same.

Hi @iamboram,
It’s been awhile since we last heard from you; checking in to see if you had any further questions or if you were able to find a work around for your case?

If we do not hear back within the next 3 business days, I’ll go ahead and close out this topic.

Thank you!

I couldn’t find a simple way, so I combined the APIs ‘list_data_sets’, ‘list_analyses’, and ‘list_dashboards’.

It was not that easy for me, but I think this is the best way to figure out.
I hope there’s a good API to check at one time.

Thanks!

Hi @iamboram

Would recommend to deploy the admin console/usage tracking dashboard as explained in this blog. It will also include data dictionary to see the list of datasets and dashboards.

Thank you so much @apjvinod.
But when I looked at the post, it seems like I must use Athena or some other charged services.

I would like to know if there are free-of-charge APIs.

Thanks
