Hello all,

I have a question on Quicksight Auto-purchase capacity.

When we enable auto-purchase, how much GB will be automatically purchased? I understand from the documentation that it depends on the volume of your data, but is there a minimum GB amount that will be purchased?

Hi @shravya,

From what I have seen in our own QuickSight account, it purchases just enough SPICE capacity needed to refresh all the datasets.

Yeah, thank you @David_Wong for the reply.

I understand that, but I’m just curious to know if there is a minimum. It seems that the capacity adjusts based on the dataset volume after the refresh or may be during the refresh.

Hello Shravya,

David is correct but again if i am not mistaken we would never know min or max as its by design to compare the current usage and apply the logic to purchase the needed capacity.

QuickSight automatically matches your account’s capacity to your current usage. After QuickSight matches your account’s capacity, the auto-purchase logic starts.
