Reader Pro User - Data Story - Error "An unexpected error occurred"

Dear QuickSight Community,

I hope this message finds you well :slightly_smiling_face:.

I’ve recently upgraded to a Reader Pro account on QuickSight to explore the “Data Story” feature powered by Amazon Q. However, I’m encountering a persistent issue that I’d like to bring to your attention and seek assistance with.

When attempting to create a new data story, I follow these steps:

  1. Fill in the description
  2. Select visuals (both custom and pre-delivered)

Unfortunately, regardless of the type of visuals chosen, I consistently receive an error message stating, “An unexpected error occurred.” After this error appears, the process halts, and I’m unable to proceed with creating the data story.

I’m curious if anyone else has experienced a similar issue or if there are any known solutions or workarounds. Any insights, suggestions, or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @Gabriel_Santana – Thank you for letting us know. I would recommend filing a case with AWS Support where we can dive into the details so that we can help you further. Here are the steps to open a support case. If your company has someone who manages your AWS account, you might not have direct access to AWS Support and will need to raise an internal ticket to your IT team or whomever manages your AWS account. They should be able to open an AWS Support case on your behalf. Hope this helps!
