Recreating dataset breaks analysis

I have created an analysis using a dataset say with id ds1.
I deleted this dataset and created same dataset with original id ds1.
Analysis is now broken. Is that expected?

Did you make a new copy of the dataset you wanted replaced in the analysis and then replace the original version with the new one before deleting it?

QuickSight will not repopulate a dataset in an analysis just because it is the same name. I’d always recommend using the replace feature within the analysis before deleting the version currently being used
