RLS "Match all" option

Hi,

I just had a read of Using row-level security (RLS) with tag-based rules to restrict access to a dataset when embedding dashboards for anonymous users - Amazon QuickSight but still have little idea on how Match all option works and what’s the use case.

Can someone elaborate on that?

Thanks,

Instead of listing out all the values you just need to put * in the value.

The use case would be for instance if you have employee performance data and give a dashboard to your employees to track their performance. However, you are a manager and want to see all the employees performance. You would be able to see them all, but the employees would just see their own.

@Max Thanks for the reply.

Is this the same as user-based rules where the users I specify can see all the data even after I have RLS enabled?

Hello @Leon, sorry for the delayed response. Yes, some users can have admin level access when RLS is applied. Leave the row value empty for the restricted field and they will gain access to all of the data.
