I’m currently exploring the use case of Amazon QuickSight Scenario for our business. Our full dataset has around 108 million rows, and it is successfully imported into SPICE, as confirmed by the dataset import status (screenshot attached — 108,551,924 rows imported, 100% success).
To test how Scenario interacts with our dataset, I asked it a basic question: “How many rows in total in our dataset?”
However, Scenario’s response indicated the dataset only contains 1,000,000 rows, which doesn’t align with the actual dataset size.
I’ve attached screenshots showing:
Scenario’s response (1M rows).
SPICE import status (108M+ rows, 117.1 GB).
My questions:
Does anyone know why Scenario is only seeing 1M rows?
Is there a configuration or setting required to ensure Scenario accesses and processes the entire dataset?
Is this a limitation or default sampling behavior of Scenario?
Any insights or guidance would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advance for your help — and have a great day!
