I want to connect a QuickSight dashboard to a monitor so it automatically updates every hour (without needing a manual refresh or tab change). I plan to set up this monitor in the office so everyone can view daily sales semi online.
How can I do this in Quicksight (in combination with redshift or s3)?
Is there a better tool for this, or is QuickSight the best option?

How often do you want the refresh to happen?
You can use SPICE with more frequent refreshes at 15 minutes or use Direct Query. You will need to refresh the browser via a tab reloader plugin or if your application where you host embedded dashboards has a way to reload the dashboard on intervals. One warning with direct query and reloading on short intervals, depending on how your data is set up you can incur increased costs.
