Showing Date Range as per Date Column

Hi QS team,

I have a M_Date Column Starts from Sep 1 2024 ( Start Date ) and End date ( depending on the last Date Let’s say May 1 2025 )

The Same column give in the Date Range Filter. I want to show Date Range as per the Values in the Date Column.

Let’s Sept 2024 to June 2025
when i open the Date Range Calendar , the Calendar shows from Sept 2024 & June 2025.

How it could be done. help Would be great!!

Hi @Venkat.Metadata,
To confirm your request for this, are you looking to adjust the format in how the dates populate in your date range control..like in the example below:

If so, you can adjust the format when setting up the control for your parameter:

But if you’re looking to setup your date picker to select months (instead of individual days), unfortunately QuickSight does not currently allow a longer time granularity than ‘day’.

Let me know if you have any additional questions

Hi @Brett

It’s not about the format.

I have the date column which contains dates from September 2024 to June 2025.

If i give the Date filter,
when i select the Date Filter, the Calendar must show from Sep 2024 to June 2025, i.e. that Date Range that we have in the Data like below

the Image from Power BI directly show what is the Start Date and End Date that we have the data in Date Column ( here Data is from Sept.1.2024 to March.1.2025 – Month/Date/Year )

so that User/People will get to know, we have the data from Sept 2024 to June 2025

Hi @Venkat.Metadata,
QuickSight does not support a larger time granularity than ‘day’ when dealing with date parameters or filters, so the date picker will always make you select a day, not allow a month to be selected.
As a potential work around, you could create a calculated field that would allow you to setup a string parameter using the month fields but that may not be the cleanest look either.

I can mark this as a feature request as this is not the first request for a larger time granularity to be made available.
