Hi @Venkat.Metadata,
To confirm your request for this, are you looking to adjust the format in how the dates populate in your date range control..like in the example below:
But if you’re looking to setup your date picker to select months (instead of individual days), unfortunately QuickSight does not currently allow a longer time granularity than ‘day’.
I have the date column which contains dates from September 2024 to June 2025.
If i give the Date filter,
when i select the Date Filter, the Calendar must show from Sep 2024 to June 2025, i.e. that Date Range that we have in the Data like below
the Image from Power BI directly show what is the Start Date and End Date that we have the data in Date Column ( here Data is from Sept.1.2024 to March.1.2025 – Month/Date/Year )
so that User/People will get to know, we have the data from Sept 2024 to June 2025
Hi @Venkat.Metadata,
QuickSight does not support a larger time granularity than ‘day’ when dealing with date parameters or filters, so the date picker will always make you select a day, not allow a month to be selected.
As a potential work around, you could create a calculated field that would allow you to setup a string parameter using the month fields but that may not be the cleanest look either.
I can mark this as a feature request as this is not the first request for a larger time granularity to be made available.
That is not what i am saying. ( Leave time Granualarity )
I have a data from September.1.2024 to March.1.2025. ( in the Date Column )
By default i see Current Month dates ( June ) and July Month Dates in the Filter when i click/open
but i do have data until March.1.2025 from Sep.1.2024 then why i see June / & July Date of 2025 in the Date Rangel filter in Quicksight
Hi @Venkat.Metadata,
Apologies for the misinterpretation. The calendar that pops up when you select the data control will be based on your default date value. So if you setup a default date, when the calendar opens it will default to the month that contains the default date.
So in my example below, I have set the default date on the ‘start’ parameter to Jan 4th, 2022:
So if you want the calendars to default to dates that are available, you’ll need to set the defaults for your start and end date parameters to match the available months.
There is no way other way to separately set the default months for the pop up calendars.
Since we have not heard back from you, I’ll go ahead and close/archive this topic. However, if you have any additional questions, feel free to create a new topic in the community and link this discussion for relevant information.
