First I registered a user via aws cli:
aws quicksight register-user
–aws-account-id 1234567890123
–namespace namespace1
–identity-type QUICKSIGHT
–user-name new_user
–user-role Reader
–email sample@email.com
–region us-east-1
After registration is successful where I was able to access the invitation url and set the password, any attempt to login forces me to sign in via IAM.
Why cant this user sign with Quicksight credentials only?
Hi @jared_javillo
Is this user by any chance an IAM user?
When I manually create a user in in QuickSight, if the user already has an IAM account then the IAM User property is already set to Yes
If that is the case then though you go to the QuickSight page he will be re-directed to the AWS IAM Login page.

Hello @Giridhar.Prabhu !
Thanks for replying.
Nope, the email used is not a root or IAM user.
Although, if I add a user through the UI like in your image, I can login without going through the IAM.
Hi
If you’re already using any other AWS service, you might encounter a login conflict when accessing AWS QuickSight. In such cases, try using an incognito/private browsing mode or switch to a different browser where you’re not logged into any other AWS services.
