Thanks for reaching out.

kindly note that your SQL function must conform to the target database requirements regarding syntax, capitalization, command termination, and so on.

Having said that, ‘{RUN_DATE_YYYYMMDD}’ is a parameter in the above function. At the moment, QuickSight does not support parameters in SQL queries yet, but there is an active feature request.

At AWS, our roadmap is primarily driven by our customers. Your feedback helps us build a better service. I have tagged this as a feature request.
