I’m trying to replicate an Excel waterfall chart (see Screenshot 1) in QuickSight. Specifically, I want to be able to designate certain fields as subtotals, like Net Sales and Gross Profit. Is there a way to do this? Thanks!

Hi @patrickhoey ,
welcome to the community
Have you seen this introduction?
You will need a datasource with one column that lists Discounts, Returns etc and on column that categorizes them into the subtotals.
Best regards,
Nico
Hi @Nico, thanks for your response! If I set up my dataset so that one column listed Discounts, Returns, etc. and one column designated subtotals, how would I arrange these columns in the waterfall chart to get something like the screenshot I sent? What would go into the field wells: category, value, and breakdown?
Hi @patrickhoey ,
your kpis (discounts, returns etc) should be in category, than the subtotals (Gross sales, net sales, gross profit, …) in the breakdown field to get the bars and then the value field in the value place.
Best regards,
Nico
