Hello,
I have a line chart visual with 6 calculated field like average processing time, average delivery time, average Q time . I m trying to support two different actions. The below scenarios mentioned are to be used post the publishing of dashboard.
So for all the 6 calculated fields I have added legends to categorize them separately. Lets say I click on Average Delivery Time in the Legend then only the selected value should be highlighted in the line chart and others should get dimmed and like wise if I click on Average delivery time in the line I would like to focus only in the selected item. While I did some due diligence I m unable to identify it.
In the pie there is an option of excluding few data points while clicking on the pie similarly do we have an similar feature which is available in the line chart.
I am not sure if this is what you are looking for ⌠see below (this creates a filter and u can disable the filter if you want all the lines to appear not exactly the same but close to it.
Yes I m expecting the same thing as mentioned above however I m unable to get the similar feature in my dash. Is it because I have created a measured line chart and in the x - axis I have an date column. Also as you mentioned that I wont be able to exclude it in the case of multi-measured line chart however I m unable to focus out a one single line.
While I have already enabled ad-hoc filtering however since I have added the average delivery time, average processing time and others in the value section I m unable to single out one single measure separately. Is there an workaround for this?
To be honest i donât know⌠are these 6 fields coming from the single measure field ?
if yes you could use as it is in âValueâ and create a single calculated field for legends using ifelse and use that in âcolorâ
No these 6 fields or lines coming up from inserting them in 6 different values in the line chart. As you mentioned if else could be used how to go about it?
Yes that i got that you are using it in as 6 different fields in value that is why its does not work. what i meant is having 1 field in value⌠if the source of these 6 calculated fields is a common field. and get segregated by color (legends) with ifelse.
Did this solution work for you? I am marking this reply as, âSolution,â but let us know if this is not resolved. Thanks for posting your questions on the QuickSight Community!
Hello @samytar97, I believe you are running into a limitation in regards to the line chart visual. Not every visual has the same functionalities on click.
Due to this, if you want to maintain some form of onClick functionality, you could try setting up a navigation action that would set a parameter to filter the visual based on the line you are clicking. You would just set the current sheet as the destination so it doesnât move the user to a different sheet.
Alternatively, you may just need to set something up with a parameter control to manage the visual display.
Since this functionality isnât currently available in QuickSight, I will tag this topic as a feature request. Let me know if you have any remaining questions!
Hi @samytar97, sorry, currently this is not possible but we are marking this for feature request. At AWS, their roadmap is primarily driven by customers. Your feedback helps them build a better service. I have tagged this as a feature request. More features are being added on a regular basis, so please keep an eye on the Whatâs New / Blog . You can set up a Watching Alert by clicking on the bell icon.
You could look to opening up a case with AWS and see if they can provide a solution.
Here are the steps to open a support case . If your company has someone who manages your AWS account, you might not have direct access to AWS Support and will need to raise an internal ticket to your IT team or whomever manages your AWS account. They should be able to open an AWS Support case on your behalf. Hope this helps!
Hello @samytar97, since we have not heard back from you, I wanted to check in and see if you have any remaining questions on this issue. If we do not hear back from you in 3 days, I will archive this topic for our support team. Thank you!
