Hi @Mustaf
Please refer to the documentation below for cell formatting, this might be helpful for you.
I’m having the same issue with my Pivot table. I’m using it to show a summary of counts. I tried using vertical borders to divide the counts and the cell row is missing the left border as seen here:
I tried other border settings and could not get the left border to show up.
In case I accidentally changed a setting to cause this issue, I created a new Pivot table, added one field in the values section with Count distinct and it is missing the left border as seen here:
How can I get the left border on the left most cell to show up?
I decided to try recreating this in Arena in case it helps anyone trying to solve this.
Missing Left Border Example
I recreated both of my examples from above that show the missing left border on the cell row:
Hi @MikeB,
That looks like a visual bug. As a workaround, create a calculated field to calculate the distinct count and add it to a table instead of a pivot table. That seems to work for me.
Hello @David_Wong,
Thank you. That workaround fixes the missing border issue.
It appears to have some other issues/inconveniences. The Table doesn’t seem to have the Column Width property so we will need to manually adjust with widths.
A more inconvenient one is that I can’t make the fonts as large without getting the “Container is too small” error. Even if I adjust the Row height to be shorter where everything would fit, I have to make the visual’s height taller than desired to show the data.
Example with background colors set to show row heights:
Visual Height 98:
In the Pivot Table, I can use this font size with a control height of 80, which is what I was hoping to use.
Do you know if there is a way to create a shorter table without this issue?
Hi @MikeB,
Yes, these are some odd issues that I’ve encountered as well and don’t seem to have great work arounds. The best option I can suggest would be to hide the background of your table visual, that way the table the additional space around the table becomes invisible.
If you have any additional questions, let us know. Otherwise, if we do not hear back within the next 3 business days, I’ll close out this topic.
Thank you!
Hello @Brett,
Thank you for the suggestion. Since I needed to keep the background color and have other visuals placed below this one, I ended up making the table visual taller than needed in order to show the contents, then placing the other visuals over the table and using the “Send to back” option on the table. This works with the slight annoyance of losing the border at the bottom of the table.
