There is no way for the user to export the subsequent 10K records in excel format )

Hi team,

When we choose the option export to excel on the table format visualization on the dashboard, it will download maximum of 10K rows in excel.

We are not able to able download more than that rows.

Can someone help on this?

Hi @praveen442 - Welcome to AWS QuickSight community and thanks for posting the question. Can you check your excel version, I believe 10K is small, can you please export to csv and see whether all data is exported or not.

We have 50K records, all of it is getting exported when CSV is chosen, but only 10K records are getting exported when “Excel” option is chosen. Also there is no option or direction given in the QS to download the rest of the records in excel.

As per the documentation https://docs.aws.amazon.com/quicksight/latest/user/exporting-data.html

Amazon QuickSight supports exporting up to 1 million rows or 500 MB of data, whichever limit is reached first. But our dashboard is stops at 10K records in excel. Whenever the limit is reached, users are not given a solution on how they can download the rest of the records.

We have invested significant time in migrating our entire dashboard to Amazon QuickSight and this issue has become a blocker for us to proceed.

Hi @praveen442 - Thanks. did you check the excel version, you are trying to open the excel sheet.

@Sanjeeb - Any update on this issue? We are also hitting the same 1M limitations which is a blocker for us as well. Do you have any workaround to download 1M rows?

Hi @snarayanan - Please see the limitation below.

  • Default limit for export to CSV format: 500 MB or 1M rows whichever comes first

  • Default limit for export to Excel format:

    • from Pivot Table visual 400K cells or 50K rows
    • from Table visual 800K cells or 100K row

For exporting 1M, can you try csv approach.
