Transparency in visuals

Using the freeform setting to have visuals stacked on top of each other seems like a good idea, but there doesn’t appear to be any way to make the top visual have a transparent background. For example, lets say I have a bar chart and I want to add a KPI visual in the whitespace above the line – it would be great if the KPI could have a background of “transparent”.

Does this exist? If no, is it on the roadmap?

thanks,

bruce

Hi @brucelan First of all, welcome to the QuickSight community

Assuming this is what you are referring to:

Problematic scenario (KPI hiding the chart underneath):

Desired scenario (KPI is transparent):

If yes, you could achieve this by playing with these options below through the pencil icon on the KPI visual:

Hope this helps and if it answers your question, kindly mark it as a solution so it benefits others in the community… Thanks.

Hi, I am also trying to float one visual over another to combine information effectively, but to do so I need the color of a heatmap OR the color of pivot table cells conditional formatting to be semi-transparent. Is there any possible way to achieve this? I can only find controls to hide the background color, which does not apply to the visualization/data points.
