Unable to access On-demand Workshop

I’m attempting to take this workshop, but unable to find an event access code. It claims to be on demand on the events page ( Recurring Live Online Events ), and then I am told “You are currently not participating in any active event.” When I try to follow the exercises, I am unable to see the WorkShop Event Outputs in order to set up connectors

Hi @revdrake. Is it possible that you need to select “Email one-time password” to get the password and access to the on-demand workshop?

@Neeraj also tagging you on this, since I see your name affiliated with this course. Can you advise Drake on any other next steps to take in order to get access? Thx!
@drpeter for any additional insight.

I was emailed a one time password. After entering the OTP, the next step was to enter the event access code. The steps are laid out the same as below (step 4 I am having trouble getting past):

I am also an internal Amazon employee (AWS). Not sure if that changes how I should be viewing it.

Hi @revdrake ,

Are you still unable to access this workshop or have any additional questions about it?

@Neeraj tagging you again on this in case you didn’t see the message above.

Hi @JacobR,
Thank you for reaching out. Yes. I am still unable to access this workshop. It says on-demand, however it seems that it requires an access code. I believe that it is because it needs to be in an instance for amazonbi to connect to? Notice that the AWS Console access is missing from my left tab compared to the image of what should be shown post entering the event-access code.

If there is one that I should be using in order to take it, or I can get help getting one separtely in order to take this training, I would greatly appreciate it!

Hi,

Following up on this. I spoke with a member of the Quick team here in Austin today, but we are still unsure how to do this on demand workshop as I don’t have the event-access code that it is requiring. Is there some place that it’s listen and I’m missing it?

@JacobR @Neeraj

Hi @revdrake,
I was able to connect with the team member who was connected to this workshop; they menioned that this workshop was created for a re:inVent session. This creates a temporary AWS account and event access code gets provided by the organizer; which normally expires on that same day.

They mentioned that there are two options for this scenario:

  • You can try reaching out to your account SA, they can create event account and share access code.
  • The organizer is planning to add self-paced section to “Setup in your AWS Account” with the idea in mind that many customers already have a Quick account and would like to run it independently within their own. They said that they will try and get this deployed/updated by next Friday.
