I am trying to connect an Athena database to my quicksight. I keep getting this error saying " Unable to retrieve Athena workgroups. Wait a few moments and click here to try again."
I checked the Security and Permissions area and both Athena and the relevant S3 buckets have access in Quicksight. That seems to be the only recommended fix I can find online but it did not work for me. FYI I am not the root user on this account.
Have you changed any permissions in the workgroup itself?
I didn’t change any permissions in the workgroup. This is the specific error message I get.
I got it to work. I followed the directions at this link and attached a new IAM policy to the Quicksight role I was using. Thanks Max.
I am getting a similar error. I added full athena, s3 access to the aws-quicksight-s3-consumers-role-v0. Still it throws the same error. Can you help me with this ?
