Update filter grayed out after selecting a choice from filter created from Parameter

Hello All. I created a filter using a parameter, the dashboard is setup so I can select the update button after each choice from a filter but for that particular filter when I pick other options from the drop down menu the update button stays grayed out like no other change has been made. Please what could be causing this and how can I resolve it?

Hi @Oghale - Thanks for the question. This is one interesting observation. When a filter is used with parameter, you do not have option to put in a sheet as depending upon the parameter value, the data is filtered and results is appeared in the analysis.

I tested with arena and when i used to use a filter with parameter, I am not able to put the filter in the analysis. By saying this, let’s hear from QuickSight experts on this, tagging @Koushik_Muthanna , @David_Wong

@Oghale can show us the steps on how you create the parameter with the update icon? and what steps you did when the update option is not available?
thanks!

@Oghale ,
The update button after each choice from a filter is not a feature which is currently available in QuickSight. I believe your QuickSight has non-GA ( General availability ) feature enabled which should be mainly used for testing purposes.

If the QuickSight account is used for production purposes, please raise a ticket to the support team ( Creating support cases and case management - AWS Support) and get this disabled to avoid any confusions.

Kind Regards,
