We have a user in QuickSight who has Viewer permissions on a dashboard, but they can’t see any data in it.
-
It wasn’t until the other day when we had a glitch with loading data from a Redshift database that they could no longer see data in the dashboard.
-
We fixed that issue and all other users with Viewer permissions to that dashboard can now see the data again…all except that one user.
-
She’s cleared her browser cache, she’s logged out and back in, she’s tried another browser and I’ve removed her access to that dashboard and re-added it. None of this has worked.
I was going to delete her QuickSight user and re-add it, but thought I’d check here first.
Thanks!
Nick
Hi @SPCorpTechOps , Thank you for your question.
If its just one user unable to view permission then I recommend perform standard check
- Check dataset permissions - ensure user has “Reader” access
- Verify Row-Level Security settings
- Review IAM roles/policies for Redshift access.
Check logs for the user to validate permission and other settings - Incident response, logging, and monitoring in Amazon QuickSight.
Still If issues persist, I would recommend filing a case with AWS Support where we can dive into the details so that we can help you further. Here are the steps to open a support case. If your company has someone who manages your AWS account, you might not have direct access to AWS Support and will need to raise an internal ticket to your IT team or whomever manages your AWS account. They should be able to open an AWS Support case on your behalf. Hope this helps!
