I have a pivot table with rows, columns and multiple values. I am trying to set up a URL action on select by passing some parameters. I know that by using <<>> I am able to retrieve the values of the cell I am clicking in, however I was wondering if there is any way to retrieve, not the value from the cell you are clicking in, but the name of the value.
Eg.
I have a pivot table with some rows dimensions and some columns dimensions and these values:
Earth
Wind
Fire
When i click on a specific cell for Earth, I don’t want to retrieve the value within the cell, but I want to retrieve the name of the value, Earth.
When you create the URL action there are three dots (the context menu) where you can choose the dimensions and measures. The upper list shows you the dimensions from your rows and columns and will add the name of eg. the country to your URL.
In my case, values Earth, Wind and Fire, are calculated fields that are numerical and they represent different metrics. Meaning that they are not different options in one dimension, but rather separate numerical metrics that I drop into the values container of the pivot table.
That is why if i include <> in the URL action, I will retrieve a value like 0.2 but not the name of the value.
