Voice Dictation does not recognize Spanish- only English supported

Issue: The voice dictation feature (microphone button in chat input) only recognizes English. When speaking in Spanish, the transcription is incoherent — it interprets Spanish phonetics as English words.

Example:

  • Input (spoken in Spanish): “Esto es una prueba para ver cómo funciona el dictado por voz en español”

  • Output: “Esto is unareva. paraver communiona el dicta urbos en espanol.”

Details:

  • Amazon Quick Desktop (latest version)

  • No language preference option in Settings → Customization → Voice

  • English dictation works perfectly

  • Chat text in Spanish works flawlessly — only voice is affected

Request: Add multilingual support to voice dictation (at minimum Spanish), or provide a language selector in Voice settings.

Why it matters: Many Amazonians in LATAM and Spain work bilingually. The chat handles Spanish perfectly, so the voice-only English limitation creates an inconsistent experience.

Hi @fppiedra and welcome to the community!

Thanks for brining this up! You’re correct that voice dictation in Amazon Quick Desktop currently only supports English. I’ll go ahead and mark this as a feature request so it can be logged and further addressed by the AWS Team.

However, if you have any additional questions, feel free to create a new topic in the community and link this discussion for relevant information.

Thank you!
