Hi, I’m setting up a VPC Connection with a SQL Server in us-east-1-qro-1a (QRO Local Zone).
CloudTrail catch this error: “errorMessage”: “AvailabilityZone us-east-1-qro-1a is not available for use”
Is VPC Connection available in Local Zones? Is there an alternative private connection to an EC2 SQL Server?

Based on the documentation I found, the local zone you mentioned is available for VPC Connections. The issue may be with how you set up the VPC connection. I think you may find more information at the re:Post community since this is more specific to EC2 rather than QuickSight specifically.

I’d be interested to hear if they were able to provide better feedback on this problem. Another option is that you can submit a support ticket to get more in-depth advice from someone at AWS.
Here are the steps for opening a support ticket - Creating support cases and case management - AWS Support. If your company has someone who manages your AWS account, you might not have direct access to AWS Support and will need to raise an internal ticket to your IT team or whomever manages your AWS account. They should be able to open an AWS Support case on your behalf
