Can we do 1-click embedding which can we visible to all public users which come to my domain? Only read access. Also, what is the pros and cons of using 1 click embedding and api based embedding?
Hello Tisha,
The answer is yes ! please see - Embedding QuickSight visuals and dashboards for anonymous users with a 1-click embed code - Amazon QuickSight
-
To embed visuals and dashboards in a public application, wiki, or portal, make sure that the domain where you’re embedding it is on the allow list for your Quick Sight account.
-
you also need to have your Dashboard accessible to public.
-
Session-based pricing applies to public dashboards in Amazon Quick Sight. When you share dashboards publicly using Quick Sight, you are charged based on sessions.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Deep
Hi Tisha,
Both 1-Click Embedding and API-Based Embedding ultimately achieve the same goal, but the real difference is in flexibility versus simplicity. If you need something quick and easy to set up, 1-Click is ideal — it minimizes technical effort and gets dashboards in front of users fast. But if you’re thinking long-term, API embedding provides much deeper control, allowing you to customize the user experience, handle permissions dynamically, and scale as your application grows.
In short, it’s often wise to start with 1-Click for quick wins, and then move toward API-based embedding once your needs become more complex. That way, you get value immediately without boxing yourself in for the future.
