All existing data sources disappeared from admin view

Hello QuickSight community,

I’m experiencing an unusual issue with my QuickSight account and would like to confirm if this is happening to others as well.

Issue Description:

  • I am the admin user of our master account

  • I have previously created multiple data sources and have been operating datasets built from these sources

  • All datasets are still visible and functioning properly

  • However, all data sources have completely disappeared from the “Data sources” tab

  • The interface shows “Create your first data source and find it here” as if no data sources exist

Current Situation:

  • Account role: Master account admin

  • Datasets: Visible and working

  • Data sources: Not visible at all (despite being used by existing datasets)

Since the datasets that depend on these data sources are still functioning normally, I suspect this might be a UI bug or permission-related issue rather than actual data loss.

Questions:

  1. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

  2. Is this a known bug in the current version?

  3. Are there any troubleshooting steps I should try?

I’ve attached screenshots showing the empty data sources view. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

Hi @9haeng

When QuickSight became Quick and the user interface changed we did not see any issues with the dataset and the datasources. Our datasources which are typically from the MySQL database (AWS Aurora) showed up in the datasources tab without issues.

Since you are saying you created the datasources, then you are the owner of the datasource and permission should not be an issue.

I think it is best you contact AWS support as they can look behind the scene and figure out what is going on.

Giri

Hi @9haeng,

Just checking back in since we haven’t heard from you in a bit. Were you able to see Giri’s reply and/or find a solution yourself in the meantime? If you still have any additional questions related to your initial post, please feel free to share them. Otherwise, any update you’re able to provide within the next 3 business days would be helpful for the community.

Thank you!
