Data Source - Delete Upload Files

Hi,

I am currently tidying up the assets within our account that were created by previous employees. I went through ‘Manage Assets’ to share every single item of all asset types with my account. I have managed to delete any unwanted Analysis, Dashboards, Datasets, and selected Data Sources (non file upload ones it seems). However, I am struggling to be able to find the data sources that I can see and have shared through the ‘Manage Assets’ section:

I can only see these in the Data Sources part of the datasets sidebar tab:

Please let me know how I can get to those file upload data sources to delete them, they aren’t in use.

Any questions and please just ask, many thanks.

Riley

Hi @riley.anderson,

When you were sharing the assets over to your account, did you assign yourself ‘Viewer’ or ‘Owner’ in the Permissions section?

Additionally, you could explore the API options that can assist with deleting data sources:

Hi Brett,

I was sharing everything as ‘Owner’.

If it is not possible then I will explore the API as have used it briefly before, just thought it maybe easier to use the interface.

Many thanks.

Riley

Hi @riley.anderson,

It is a bit odd that they’re not populating in the Datasets → Datasources section; I just tested out in my environment; after making myself the ‘owner’ of a datasource (from the manage asset screen), it began showing up in the datasources section, which then gave me the option to delete. It may be helpful to file a support ticket as well if they continue to not show up in your environment!

Hi @riley.anderson,

Just checking back in since we haven’t heard from you in a bit. Were you able to see Brett’s reply and/or find a solution yourself in the meantime?

If you still have any additional questions related to your initial post, please feel free to share them. Otherwise, any update you’re able to provide within the next 3 business days would be helpful for the community.
