Amazon Q- How to get access to the linked topic

I have created the topic for the dashboard DSP DA Engagement. I would like to link the topic to the dashboard via analysis. But there is no 3 dots next to “Build visual” . When i try to link the topic via publishing the dashboard, I got the message “Failed to link the topic.” How to access the topic.
I am using the QS account: amzlbiaquicksight
I have seen there is 3 dots from other analysis under the same account.

Hi @Li_Yang,
This is interesting, is the error message giving any additional reasoning other than ‘failed to link the topic’?

A couple other things to confirm that may be preventing this:

  • I assume since you said that you created the q topic and your screenshot is of the analysis that you do, but confirming that you have correct permissions to edit both the analysis and topic?
  • Is the analysis utilizing the same dataset(s) as your topic? And are the fields being utilized in the topic available in your analysis?
  • Was your Q topic still indexing when you attempted to link it? That could cause an error in this situation.
  • Try logging out of QuickSight, clearing your browser cache and then logging back in to see if the 3 dots appears then.

@Brett ,Thanks for your quick response.

  1. I don’t have this issue with other dashboards. I can see the three dots behind the “Build visual” option on other dashboards I’ve created, but not on this particular one. I can link topics on other dashboard, but not this one.
  2. This dashboard ingests data from 5 different datasets. I only build topic with 3 datasets.
  3. I have cleared the cache and login the dashboard analysis again and update the topic, I still have this issue.
Is there possibility that I can screen share the issue with you via a video chat?

Hi @Li_Yang,
I am not available to connect via video chat. I would suggest that since you’re not encountering this issue with other dashboards, creating a support ticket to get more in depth support may be the best option for this scenario. You can follow the link provided below:

Thank you for your suggestion @Brett !
