I’ve set up a geospatial hierarchy within my dataset, containing State, City, and Zip fields. I can visualize a “points on map” map with the hierarchy as the dimension. But a “filled map” doesn’t seem to recognize the fields as geospatial:
I had this issue two days ago but I was dealing with country dataset. Its something to do with the way quicksight processes data for filled maps. I did several troubleshooting but nothing helped. But ultimately, what I did was open another google chrome sheet in the same browser tab and deleted browsing history, cache and cookies. Then refreshed the visualization again. It worked. You could try this.
Thank you for the reply @darsgala . I tried refreshing, clearing all history, different browsers, and in private/incognito, to no success unfortunately. This seems like a bug that needs to be fixed
Hi @jt_the_bi_dev,
It’s been awhile since we last heard from you. Are you still encountering the same issue from your original topic? What format are the States written in under ‘Customer State’? The mapping feature in QuickSight can sometimes be finnicky for map filling.
If your issue continues, I would suggest creating a support ticket.
If we do not hear back within the next 3 business days, I’ll go ahead and close out this topic.
