Changing the visual titles dynamically based on filter

I want to change the visual title dynamically based on the control which is from parameter acting as slicer. i want to add different text for each selection, how to do that?

Hi

A workaround for that will be to use free-form layout and overlay a visual (like a word cloud) that displays the calculated field near the visual title. In the dashboard, it will look like the calculated field is part of the visual title itself.

Can you elaborate on how this could be done? i didnot get you. And as you know calculated field cant be added to visual title. I have read your response to another question but could not work it out.

Hi @Gryffindor,
I believe what Shahid was referring to in this instance; if you use free-form layout, you can overlay visuals (or for the example I’m about to propose, text boxes) on top of eachother and create rules that ‘show’ the text box when a parameter is selected.

So while you may not be able to accomplish this in a visual’s title or subtitle, you can hide both of those options and add text boxes above the visual, one for each variation you have. Then, create a rule for each text box (see below)

Make sure to turn on the ‘hide this visual by default’ for each text box. Then when creating the rule(s), you can select the parameter that will control this, and then change the option to ‘show this visual’ as the action.

That way, when you select a value in your parameter, whichever text box matches that value, will populate.

Let me know if you have any additional questions, if we do not hear back within the next 3 business days, I’ll go ahead and close out this topic.

Thank you!
