Using Dynamic Title in all my visuals with some criteria

Hi all.

I am working on this dashboard and I need to create dynamic titles for all my visuals which I have accomplished.

I created a parameter and linked it to the dataset using the field Department Type.

Department Type has two values, HR and Marketing. I added this parameter in all of my visual titles and now when I filter the department type, the title changes accordingly. When I select both in filter, the visual says All. When I select HR, it displays HR and when I select Marketing, the title shows Marketing.

Department Type is the main control in the dashboard.

Now I have another requirement and what I need to do is, there are four visuals in the same dashboard which should only apply to HR and not Marketing. Now only for those four visuals, when I filter by Marketing, it should appear as “Not applicable to Marketing” in the title. The default title would be HR.

Is this something that can be achieved in Quicksight?

Hi @Rus
why not hide the visuals if filter by Marketing and show just a text “Not applicable to Marketing”?

Hi @ErikG . Thanks for the reply. I just tried it but when i add a conditional rule and hide the visuals, the whole format looks off or blank so we want to still have the boxes or visuals and it should just say “Not applicable to Marketing” when filtered to Marketing. We have a-lot of visuals in the dashboard with some alignment so hiding it makes it look odd.

Thanks.

You can use freeform layout. base on the parameter, you can hide/unhide a visual
