I have searched, found several similar, but not one direct answer to the question … How many characters/line items are allowed in a Custom Filter List?? In the List field, the helper text says to enter values, one per line … how many lines can I have, how many characters total can be copy/pasted into that text-entry field box to then filter my visualization?

I am having trouble locating the exact number in documentation as well but from my understanding, it’s around 200 characters. Do you have a list that’s limiting the number of results you have/not allowing you to add more?
One of my filters allows a list of fully qualified domain name values to show or hide device names on our network. One user attempted to paste in a list of about 2,600 (I think she said) DNS names, and it did not allow all of it. 200 characters seems a far cry from a useful/logical ability to get a lit of things brought in. I did see one place where documentation implies we can have a list of 100,000 items, but that seems off as well given other places where filters will give a search capability when over 1,000 items are in the results. I have no specific examples right now on any lists that I can quickly validate where it stops working correctly to try and guess what the limits are. I am rather “new” to QuickSight, and this is my first change to a report where I offer the custom list mode of filtering, and would think this is a documented/known limit if it has one, so I might be able to set user expectations with my using community.
I just wasted a load of time trying to copy/paste my way up to what this custom filter list will allow - it is most definitely more than 200 characters. I incrementally added DNS names until I started getting an actual error warning message that I was nearing the max characters or items. Trying to ascertain what that limit really is, I was able to add 1,058 names to the list with a new line after each. Most of the names I added were 25 characters in length, for a total character count of 26,434. I was left with one final new line which I removed and found that 51 characters are being used up for each new line/carriage return … each of my 25 character name additions were using up 76 characters. From this, I still don’t know for sure what the design limits are within the QuickSight toolset, but I found that we will be limited to around 26K characters for the text I am adding, PLUS allowing for a tremendous amount of space to record the “one line per row” aspects … seems quite odd to me that it takes that much space away.
