Choose date field on 'Show relevant values only' Option

I have filter controller that call ‘source’ .

I tried to use for this controller on the ‘Show relevant values only’ option, and wanted to choose the date filter that I have for all the visualizations on the analysis.

but the date option does not appear. what can I do?

the date field is in the same data set as the source field.

Hi @anatez ,

Welcome back to the community!

Unfortunately there is no way we can set that up when we allow users to select date from calendars. There is not a quick way I am aware of to limit selection of irrelavant dates.

But for awareness, the workaround I used for one similar implementation is adding a narrative that states the relevant date range. But yes this works as a info only for the users to take note of.

Thanks,

Prantika

Hi ,

im not sure that talk about the same issue .

I want to use the option that you can choose for controller:

and the problem that you can’t choose a date field on the options for relavnt values.

Ok, if I understand correctly, you are trying to show relevant values in another filter control based on the date filtered. But you do not see the option of the date field but see other fields.

Is the date field control added as well in the dashboard? Also assuming both fields are from the same dataset.

Hi .

yes , I have date controller for the same dashboard from the same dataset.

hi

Is there any answer about it?

Hi @anatez ,

You should be able to use a date field control to show relevant values for another control.

Just so I understand, the field you called Source, is it marked as a dimension or measure?

The field is a dimension, and for this field, I want to use the ‘show relevant values ’ and choose the date field. so that if I filter dates, it will show on my controller only the relevant values for this dates.

there is an answer ?

HI , The is any answer ??

Hi @anatez , Yes, once you follow the steps I mentioned, you should see only the relevant values. Did you try the steps that I mentioned?

hi

What steps did you mention?

Hi , is there any answer?

Hi @anatez ,

It is true that you cannot use a date field as a relevant value for a control. However, there was a recent community post that presented a potential workaround that I would recommend trying out. Here is the post (Using date controller for use ‘Show relevant values only’ Option - Q&A - Amazon Quick Suite Community).
