Conditional Filters in QS Based on Filter Selection

Hello everyone,

I’m new to QS and I’m not sure if it’s possible to implement this feature. I have a dataset (as shown in the snapshot) and I have filter controls for Client ID, F1, F2, and F3. In my dataset, the values 1 and 0 indicate True and False, respectively.

Is there a way to configure the filters so that, based on the Client ID selection, only those filters with a value of 1 in the dataset are shown?

*Example:

  • If the user selects Client ID “A”, then filters F1, F2, and F3 will be shown.
  • If Client ID “D” is selected, then only filter F1 will be shown, and F2 & F3 will be hidden.

In the dataset, I have shown only 3 Client IDs for reference, but in the actual dataset, there are more than 200 Client IDs. Please advise if there is any solution for this. I can’t use the dynamic default parameter as it only works with username or group name.

Thank you!

Hi @ANIL2025

as the combinations of F1, F2 and F3 are limited you could try to build a “contain” rule for all 200 ids. I guess there is no other option as you cant use calculated fields for a rule.

Hi @ANIL2025,
It’s been awhile since we last heard from you on this thread, were you able to find a work around for your case or did you have any additional questions?

If we do not hear back within the next 3 business days, I’ll close out this topic.

Thank you!

Thank you, EricG I appreciate your help. Yes, there is no other option since we can’t use calculated fields for a rule.

Hi @ANIL2025,
I’ll mark this as a feature request to promote visibility to the support team.

Thank you!
