I have 2 dataset parameters.. I have added visuals in table format, then mapped column to filter and added a control at top of sheet… once i enter values in dataset parameters.. then again in filter based on controls.. its not getting filter further.. the control parameters are not working.. in a simple table visualization also.
Hello @suvarna0212, it sounds like something isn’t connected properly between the dataset parameter and the analysis parameter.
Are you creating another version of the dataset parameter on the analysis, and then mapping the 2 within the analysis view?
Then, when you create the control dropdown, are you setting it to display a list of values from a field in your dataset? Are those values showing as expected?
Also, why are you creating the parameters on the dataset? Are you using the dataset parameters in custom SQL or are they just stored on the dataset?
Last thing, do the default values for the dataset parameter and analysis parameter match? The analysis parameter default value will override the dataset value if they are not the same.
dataset parameters are in SQL,in Addition to these filter. there are analysis parameter.. both combined are not working as expected
Hello @suvarna0212, I understand they are not working, but in order to provide you with a possible solution, I need more information about the issues you are experiencing.
You are using the parameters in the SQL of a direct query dataset to filter the results based on the user selection. Does the default value of the parameter on the dataset and the analysis match?
On the control dropdown in the analysis that the parameter is linked to, is the list of options for the dropdown from the same dataset as the one the dataset parameters are linked to?
What is the data source that you are using to create the datasets? Is there any kind of join happening on the dataset that is not in the SQL (are you using the join feature in the QuickSight console)?
Please provide some more detail about the implementation. That will allow me to guide you towards a resolution.
