When trying to join 2 dataset in data prep (I am choosing left join but I have tried all and none of them work ) the data prep tool doesn´t see that there are matching cells (I have checked that there are). I think it is interpreting 2 columns with exact same values from the 2 different tables as different things, so it is giving me value for table 2 all null

Would you be able to share more information about how you’re trying to setup the join?
There was a recent Quick Sight Learning Series session that dove deeper into the new Data Prep experience with a demo that includes table joins, take a look and see if this points out something you might be missing:
An alternate work around option would be to switch back to the legacy version of the data prep and trying the join in that way.
