I’m working on a solution that embeds Quicksight Q into our web app.
I have the current topic looking at a dataset we manage within Quicksight. I recently had to change the schema that added columns to the dataset. Is there a way that the topic will pick up the changes to the schema I’ve tried the refresh feature within quickisight Q and that does not seem to work. Will I need to make a new topic? If so, that is ridiculous because I will lose months of work from my current topic. Any help or guidance is appreciated.
If you added fields to your dataset, they should show in the topic after it’s refreshed. They will be in the topic but won’t be included by default. You just have to include them if you want to use them in the topic.
So that’s the issue I have refreshed my topic multiple times and it is still not picking up the new columns from my dataset. I added a new column called FromStateFullName. It is here within the source dataset. I have ran a refresh of the topic several times however it fails to pick up the new data.
Hi @causey,
This is interesting, are you still encountering this issue?
In my experience, like David mentioned above, once refreshed, the new fields should populate in the Q topic data fields section.
If still encountering, I would suggest creating a support ticket.
If we do not hear back within the next 3 business days, I’ll go ahead and close out this topic as well!
Hi @causey,
Since we haven’t heard back, I’ll close out this topic. However, if you have any additional questions, feel free to create a new post in the community and link this discussion for relevant information if needed.
