[FEATURE REQUEST] - Dataset editor

Hi Community,

I have found myself in this situation a few times.

  1. I create a dataset using Custom SQL
  2. Once I validate the data and am happy with the data, I update the column names from the technical field names to a more business friendly names
  3. When I am updating the field names I go on updating all the names which could be some 15-20 fields. Since each change is a separate edit followed by an OK and the changes are saved and visible in the dataset editor it gives a sense that the changes are saved
  4. I have to do a Save and Publish on the dataset in order to save the change. However, given the description above sometimes I click on the QuickSight icon thinking I am done. I would like the following to happen
    • A prompt that says there are unsaved changes and would you like to Save the changes or Discard? This will ensure that I am made aware that I made some changes to the dataset that I have not saved and will decide either to discard or save. Currently it just comes out and I loose all the changes I made to the field names
