I’m having an issue with a filter, it works perfectly in the analysis view, but it doesn’t work correctly on the published dashboard.
Specifically, on the published dashboard, newly updated filter options are not showing up. If I select one of these new options in the analysis before publishing, that selected option disappears or is missing from the filter on the dashboard after I publish.
I’ve tried rebuilding the visuals that use this filter, but that hasn’t helped. Interestingly, if I publish the analysis as a new dashboard (with a new link), everything works correctly, and all filter options appear as expected. But I can’t change the existing dashboard’s link.
Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this or any suggestions on how to debug it?
Hi @Pvtss and welcome to the QuickSight community!
It sounds like this is fairly common behavior actually; when you make a change to your analysis (which it sounds like you were since you stated the ‘newly updated filter options’), you will need to publish a new version of your dashboard for those changes to take place. So if you have new filter options added, you’ll need to republish your analysis (you can either override your original dashboard version or create a new one).
I believe this is the reason since you also mentioned that when you published a new dashboard, they started working. Just make sure to always publish again after making any changes to your analysis!
Hi Brett, thanks for the reply. My problem is precisely about this overwrite step. When I overwrite the original dashboard, my new filters don’t appear in the published version. I can only see them if I create a new one.
