Gcp quicksight dashboard integration problem

hi, i am trying to implement gcp cost dashboard on Quicksight. I have gcp_currency and
gcp_current_pricing datasets. But when deployed the dashboard according to the link ,
gcp_summary_with_pricing dataset was not created. As i understand, via the GCP-Cost-Dashboard.yaml it creates new dataset (gcp_summary_with_pricing) from have gcp_currency and gcp_current_pricing datasets. Why i get this error “Unable to load prepared data source”

Hi @mustafa

Welcome to the community!

Could you please try checking the steps below to identify where the issue is? I see your YAML script is using Athena as the datasource, but the Quick Sight workshop is created with an S3 bucket.

  1. Check the ingestion history of your GCP dataset rows.
  2. Verify the S3 file path if you are using it.
  3. Try manually refreshing your GCP dataset and see if there are any issues.

hi @Xclipse ,

thank you for your good wishes.

We are using Quick Sight in our production account instead of the workshop.

For the dataset, we use Athena as the data source, and the gcp_current_pricing dataset exists. and also we are able to use the gcp_current_pricing dataset in our custom dashboard.

However, after deploying the GCP-Cost-Dashboard, no data appears, and upon checking, the datasets are empty. i think the gcp_summary_with_pricing dataset cannot be created.

(By the way, the gcp_summary_with_pricing dataset does not exist in the dataset rows)

Hi @mustafa

Apologies for the delayed response.

If you are able to query the GCP pricing data in Athena, you should be able to see the same data in the Quick Sight dataset.

Please check the GCP pricing data files that you uploaded to the S3 bucket to see if there are any formatting issues or if the headers are misaligned.
