Help Needed: Embedding Quick Sight Dashboard with Executive Summary and Data Story Capabilities

Hello AWS Community,

I’m currently working on embedding an Amazon Quick Sight dashboard into my application, and I need some assistance with enabling specific features. I’ve been following the documentation on generating the URL with the authentication code attached, as outlined here: Step 2: Generate the URL with the authentication code attached.

My objective is to embed a Quick Sight dashboard with the capabilities of “Executive Summary” and “Data Story”. However, I am unable to find how to enable these features using the available build tools. Specifically, I need to know:

  1. Is it possible to enable and embed a Quick Sight dashboard with the “Executive Summary” and “Data Story” features?
  2. If it is possible, what are the exact steps or configurations required to achieve this?
  3. Are there any additional permissions or settings that need to be configured in IAM or Quick Sight to allow these features?

Here is a brief overview of what I’ve done so far:

  • Followed the IAM authentication process for embedding Quick Sight.
  • Generated the embeddable Q topic URL and Dashboard.
  • Ensured that users are being uniquely provisioned in Quick Sight.

Despite these steps, I am unable to find documentation or examples that specifically cover enabling the “Executive Summary” and “Data Story” features within an embedded dashboard.

Any guidance or references to relevant documentation would be greatly appreciated!

Executive summaries and data stories are not available with embedded dashboards yet.

Do you know if there is a roadmap or any future plans for making the Executive Summaries and data stories features available for embedded Quick Sight dashboards?
Any information on potential timelines or upcoming updates would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @jagimene,

Executive summary and data story are new features and usually new features don’t become available in embedded dashboards until a bit later. I don’t have any visibility on the roadmap but we can tag this as a feature request.
