1. Can I calculate the actual monthly cost of each Amazon Quick user from the Index Capacity page?
Specifically, does the Agent hours usage and Storage usage shown for each user directly correspond to billable usage?
2. What exactly does Agent hours usage represent?
For example, in my screenshot:
- User A: 0 agent hours
- User B: 0.37 hours
- User C: 0.02 hours
- User D: 0 hours
Are these hours consumed from the user’s included monthly entitlement, or are they already billable hours?
3. How are agent-hour overages calculated?
If a user exceeds their included agent hours:
- Is the additional usage charged at $3 per agent hour?
- Is the charge calculated per second?
- Are different activities, such as Quick Research vs. Quick Flows/Automate, charged differently? AWS currently documents $3/hour for additional agent hours and $6/hour for additional Quick Research agent hours for Enterprise.
4. Is the Storage usage in the screenshot a billable amount for that individual user?
For example, if a user shows 304 KB, does that mean I pay for 304 KB specifically for that user?
5. How does pooled storage affect per-user cost?
AWS says index storage is allocated per user but pooled at the organizational/payer-account level. How should I allocate the storage cost back to individual users for FinOps/showback purposes?
6. What happens if the organization exceeds its total included storage?
Is the overage calculated based on:
Total organization storage − Total storage allowance for all users
rather than on each individual user’s storage?
7. How should I allocate the $250/month infrastructure fee to individual users?
For example, if we have 100 users, should I consider it as:
$250 / 100 = $2.50 per user/month
for internal cost allocation? AWS currently lists a $250/account/month infrastructure fee for Professional and Enterprise.
8. What is the correct formula for calculating a user’s effective monthly cost?
For example, should our FinOps model look something like:
User cost = subscription cost + allocated infrastructure cost + allocated storage overage + agent-hour overage
If so, what is the correct methodology for each component?
9. Can AWS Cost Explorer or AWS Billing provide the actual cost by user?
If not, what AWS billing/usage data should we combine with the Quick Index Capacity page to calculate user-level costs?
10. Is there an AWS API/CloudWatch/billing report that gives agent-hour and index-storage consumption by user?
This is particularly important if we want to build a monthly cost-per-user dashboard rather than manually reading the console.

I would specifically ask this:
“In the Index Capacity page, are the Storage Usage and Agent Hours Usage values consumption metrics only, or can I use them directly to calculate the amount that AWS will charge for that individual user?”

Can you show me, step by step, how to calculate the actual AWS cost attributable to each user for this month, including subscription, included agent-hour allowance, agent-hour overage, index-storage allowance/overage, and the $250 account infrastructure fee?
Also, because index storage is pooled at the organization level, how should we fairly allocate storage costs to individual users?
