How to track user-level UI interactions (filter changes, exports, etc.) in Amazon QuickSight?

Hi Team,

I’m trying to understand if there’s any way to track or log detailed UI-level user actions in Amazon QuickSight, such as:

  • Applying or changing filters

  • Exporting reports (CSV, PDF, etc.)

  • Other on-screen interactions within dashboards

I’ve already checked CloudTrail and CloudWatch, but I can only see the event QueryDatabase being triggered when a user exports a report or interacts with the dashboard.

Could you please confirm:

  1. If QuickSight logs any additional user actions (like export events, filter changes, etc.)?

  2. If there are other AWS services, APIs, or configurations that can help capture these user-level UI activities in more detail?

Any guidance or best practices for tracking such interactions would be really helpful.

Hi @Unni,

When it comes to tracking user interactions within Quick Sight, the options are fairly limited to my understanding.
Take a look at this old community post that covers a similar request, more specifically, check out David’s response that was marked as the solution towards the bottom. He provided some additional documentation that explores the available options:

Hi @Unni,
