Invite user by Email option not available under Manage Users

Invite user by Email option not available under Manage Users. From my understanding when we launched our QS account, we disabled the option to invite users by email. Is there an option to enable it?

Hello @mohitgh

Welcome to the community! Thanks for your question!

To enable the option to invite users by email in Amazon QuickSight, follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to the AWS Management Console and open the Amazon QuickSight console at Amazon QuickSight.
  2. Go to Administration:
  • On the top right, click on your user name.
  • Select “Manage QuickSight” from the dropdown menu.
  1. Navigate to Account Settings:
  • In the left-hand panel, click on “Account settings”.
  1. Enable User Invitations:
  • Look for the section “User invitations”.
  • If the option to invite users by email is disabled, you should see a toggle switch or checkbox to enable it.
  • Toggle or check to enable the option.
  1. Save Changes:
  • Click on “Save changes” or a similar button to apply the new settings.

Once this option is enabled, you should be able to invite users by email under the Manage Users section.

I do not see the “User Invitations” option under Account Settings.

Hi @mohitgh - The best way to see this issue to raise a ticket to AWS customer support so that they can validate it by screenshare. To raise a ticket, please follow the below link.

@Xclipse - can you please look into the above

Hi @mohitgh

when you initially sign up for QuickSight you have three options for user management

Use Active Directory
Use IAM federated identities and QuickSight-managed users
Use IAM federated identities only

I suspect the third option was picked. The most effective way to address this issue is to open a ticket with AWS customer support. They can then verify it via a screen share. To submit a ticket, please use this link. The support team can add the ability to add QS managed users if you open a support ticket in the AWS console. Give them your account number and tell them you want to add the ability to invite local QuickSight users via email to your account.

Marking above response from @Xclipse as the solution.
Adding one additional detail that isn’t direct relevant to this question - There are four options for authentication now - counting IAM Identity Center.
